The Clark Currier Inn, built in 1803 by shipbuilder Thomas March Clark, is an elegant example of a three-story "square house" of that era. It retains much of the original splendor; each room is appointed with beautiful antiques. Lovely details include window seats, decorative dentil moldings, Indian shutters, and wide pumpkin-pin flooring. As you enter the wide center hall, you will see one of the inn's most distinguished features, the elegant "good morning staircase". The beautiful parlor contains an impessive original Samuel McIntyre Fireplace with elegant mantel.. |
